As part of my personal year of saying yes to things that will stretch me, I agreed to host the inaugural episodes of Care Ring’s Maternal Wellness Matters podcast to capture highlights from the organization’s second annual Maternal Wellness Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina.
We filmed a total of seven interviews and boy do I have a newfound respect for talk show hosts!
While I’ve been interviewed on camera and spoken on stage countless times, there was something more daunting about being on camera for several hours, conducting interviews that I would not have thought twice about writing for a print or digital publication.
Typically, my work as a publicist and journalist focuses on putting others out in front of the camera, but on THAT day, I was one of the subjects. However, as the initial nerves calmed down, my interviewing skills kicked right in as I remembered my WHY — to use my gift and talents to amplify the voices, causes, and stories of those who may not know how to do so for themselves.
It was an absolute joy to bring forth the stories from the 2025 Care Ring Maternal Health Conference and I hope the community embraces the work of this outstanding organization. Please enjoy the first interview of the series featuring Care Ring CEO Tchernavia Montgomery. You can view all of the interviews here.
